We have added a new type of spinning plate to our range: the ND Jester Deluxe Spinning Plate, developed by Dutch master juggler Niels Duinker.
The Jester plate has been designed to be more stable, easier to control and less prone to wobbling than traditional spinning plates. It is also slightly more solid than cheaper models, giving it a very nice and stable feel in use.
Looks like a real plate
The white Jester Spinning Plate has a realistic design that, with a little imagination, looks much like an ordinary dinner plate. This gives it a clean and professional appearance on stage – perfect for shows, performances and teaching.
The plate slopes gently towards the centre, making it easier, especially for beginners, to quickly find the sweet spot. At the same time, this design is also an advantage for many more advanced tricks.
More possibilities for tricks
On top of the plate there is a small hole/recess that opens up a range of additional possibilities. You can, for example, stack several plates on top of each other by placing an additional stick into the recess of the plate below. Duinker’s Jester plate is also very well suited for both traditional plate spinning and grinding, where one plate is spun sideways on top of another.
The underside of the plate features grooves that can be struck with the hand to increase the spinning speed. This makes it possible to achieve impressively long spin times.
The specially designed stick
A two-piece stick made from reinforced, rigid plastic is included. The combination of high rigidity and just a little flexibility makes it comfortable and easy to work with.
The very tip of the stick is polished smooth, while the sides are slightly rough. This gives the stick a good grip on the plate when building up speed, while still allowing it to slide towards the centre when needed.
We will also be stocking Niels Duinker’s aluminium sticks at a later date. These can be joined together using three, four or even more sections, allowing you to perform your plate-spinning tricks at the top of a very tall stick. The sections are firmly hammered together until completely secure and, once assembled, cannot be separated again. This creates an extremely safe and rigid connection and is a major improvement over previous multi-section sticks.
The plate weighs 180 grams and measures 27 cm in diameter. The included stick measures 64.5 cm.
We currently stock the ND Jester Deluxe Spinning Plate in white. Other colours are available to order.
