The original Holy Wood by Hanson Chien has been one of our bestsellers at Pegani for the past 4-5 years – and for good reason. It is a simple, powerful impossibility combined with an exceptionally well-made prop.
Now Hanson Chien returns with Pocket Holy Wood. It is not simply a smaller version of the original, but offers two new ways to present the idea.
You show an ordinary-looking matchbox. It is empty – and you push a match right through the box - yet moments later, a solid block of wood has impossibly appeared inside!
Alternatively, you bring out a miniature playing card box containing a tiny deck of cards. You push a playing through the middle of the box - and then, in an instant, the entire deck transforms into one solid block of wood.
It is the kind of magic that leaves very little room for explanation. The spectator sees an object that simply should not be there – and it can immediately be shown.
Pocket Holy Wood is easy to carry, very easy to perform and requires virtually no technical skill. It is a wonderful little impossibility to keep in your pocket, ready to show whenever the opportunity arises.
