You hand a spectator a black clipboard containing several sheets of blank paper and a marker. With your back turned, you ask them to draw a picture (or write a word, name, or number).
They then tear the sheet from the pad and fold it up before returning the clipboard to you. You ask them to concentrate on what they have drawn, and slowly begin sketching a picture that is an exact duplicate of theirs!
The moment the clipboard is handed back to you, you receive all the information about what the spectator has drawn. Everything that follows is pure performance. You can confidently leave the clipboard in the spectator’s hands while they are drawing.
To anyone who does not know the secret, it appears to be nothing more than an ordinary thin black clipboard with blank paper. It even uses standard A4 sheets.
This is one of those effects you’ll want to try the moment you get it in your hands. It is always ready to use, based on a reliable method, easy to perform, and can be presented completely impromptu with no preparation.
We sold a great many of these nearly 20 years ago. The method remains one of the best on the market if you want to avoid using electronics. The inside has a slight bulge, but since it is covered by a few sheets of paper, it has no practical impact on performance. Virtually impossible to find today, and we only discovered this single example that had been hiding at the bottom of a box. Everything works.
