This is a classic comedy routine in magic, presented here in a fine version sourced from Bazar de Magia in Argentina.
The gimmicked glass can be used for many different presentations: an egg in a hat, milk in a shoe, or a comedy routine for two performers, which goes as follows:
The magician takes a piece of paper from a newspaper and forms it into a cone. He then places a glass inside the cone and turns around to pick up a bottle of wine (or water). At that moment, the clown assisting him secretly removes the glass from the paper cone, without the magician noticing, allowing the audience to catch on to the prank.
The magician turns back to the cone and pours the wine (or water, milk, soda or whatever kind of liquid you prefer) into it, believing the glass is still inside. The clown then shows the glass to the magician, who realizes he now has a problem. Nevertheless, he takes the glass from the clown and places it back into the cone, all while scolding the clown for his mischief.
The magician then makes a magical gesture and opens the paper cone: the paper is completely dry, and the liquid is now inside the glass!
