At the 2025 FISM World Championships in Italy, we met Italian magician Mario Raso, who spent five years developing what we believe is the finest latex egg available for classic routines such as Egg on Fan.
Traditional methods call for using the delicate membrane from a real egg. It is difficult to prepare, extremely fragile, and almost impossible to store properly. All of these problems have been solved with this specially made hollow latex egg. It can be compressed completely flat, yet as soon as it has room and air, it instantly unfolds into a remarkably realistic egg.
In our opinion, this is the best latex egg to reach the market since Weller discontinued production more than 40 years ago.
Countless routines in magic literature make use of this type of egg. The classic Egg on Fan remains as entertaining and deceptive as ever, and we highly recommend watching the video where Ben Hart performs his original mindblowing routine. Norwegian magician Jarle Leirpoll has also contributed a wonderful routine in his book Pocket Power, in which a piece of toilet paper magically transforms into an egg—a simple but highly visual effect.
Fortunately, you don't have to search through old books to get started. Included is access to a detailed 26-minute instructional video covering several routines and handling techniques. One highlight is Rose Petal to Egg, where a single white rose petal is placed into a wine glass and slowly transforms into an egg, which can then be cracked open into the glass. A beautiful and elegant piece of magic. You'll also learn Aurelio Paviato's excellent handling for transforming a piece of paper into an egg, with every detail clearly demonstrated and explained.
The video also explains how to fold, store, and care for the egg correctly. It is surprisingly durable, and with proper handling it will provide many years of reliable performance.
