A fantastic addition to an existing routine when you want to award a prize, or a strong stand-alone effect that guarantees plenty of laughs and audience participation!
Display a gift bag containing four lollipops and invite the children to call out the flavours. Inside are Strawberry, Lime, Blackcurrant, and Banana. The lollipops are placed back into the bag and mixed thoroughly. Next, four picture cards are shown, each matching one of the lollipops.
A volunteer is told that if they can select a card and then, without looking, pull the matching lollipop from the bag, they get to keep it as a prize!
To demonstrate, you successfully match a card with the correct lollipop. Then it’s your helper’s turn. A card is chosen, but when it is revealed to the audience, it shows a completely different swirly lollipop with all the flavours mixed together! There’s no way that card can match any of the lollipops in the bag… unless a little magic is involved.
Abracadabra!
When the child reaches into the bag, all of the remaining lollipops have magically blended into one giant swirly lollipop. Even better, it perfectly matches the picture on the selected card. Your helper wins the prize after all!
