Jozo Bozo from Croatia has come up with a brilliant idea: He has taken the principle of the classic three-compartment change bag and built it into a soft top hat! A clever and very interesting solution for children's magicians.
No more having to explain why you are holding a bag on a handle. A top hat is a perfectly natural prop in a magic show – and this one works on exactly the same principle as a change bag.
With just one finger, you can move two small pins discreetly positioned underneath the brim, allowing you to switch between three separate compartments. This lets you use the hat to transform silks, ropes, pieces of paper, balloons – or virtually anything you already use with your change bag.
The hat is beautifully made and of excellent quality. The brim is firm and has been reinforced compared with the previous model, while the body of the hat remains soft and can easily be compressed for transportation. You can even turn the hat completely inside out to show the audience that it is empty.
The three changes are easily controlled by a new and improved wire system, cleverly positioned so that it is automatically concealed by your hand when holding the hat.
The opening measures 19 cm – and if you place the hat over the head of a small child, it will slide all the way down ... which, of course, opens up plenty of opportunities for comedy!
