Here is the beautiful and classic stage routine – now in a new, larger version produced in Germany.
The magician opens a large red-and-white striped umbrella. He inserts it into a black tube (decorated like a giant magic wand) and places the tube visibly on the table, or perhaps lets a young assistant hold it.
He now shows 8 large silk handkerchiefs in different colors and places them one by one into a bag. He explains that he will now make the silks disappear—but something goes wrong, and suddenly he is instead holding the red-and-white striped umbrella cover!
Very mysterious… the magician now pulls the umbrella out of the tube, and the surprise is great—for instead of the cover, the 8 silks are now attached around the ribs of the umbrella!
